i recently took possession of F1 2004 on PS2. i dont think its released in Australia till next month sometime...
just thought id say a bit about it. usually im a gun at driving games, and have little trouble finishing all the races in 1st place etc....by large margins....not this time
let me just say that i get quite frustrated with computer/console games when im not doing well, and to put it simply, this game has resulted in the control taking a trip, via air, across the room
im playing career mode (when i get some spare time) and its a great game....the realism is great in a lot of ways.
you start the season driveless....you are invited to a test session where ******, minardi and toyota will be watching. you have to beat a lap time, and you have 5 laps in which to do it. if you run off the road, which isnt hard to do

, that lap time is not counted, so to even have a chance, you have to keep the thing clean!
if you do well, you get emails from teams offering you jobs etc....you can choose to accept reject etc...so its pretty realistic.
you usually get offered test driver for minardi....but after my first season there, very unsuccessful testing mind you, im now the 2nd driver for ******. i still need heaps of practice, so i wont touch career mode until im better, otherwise ill have no control to play with
thats my 2c, although its closer to a dollar
in conclusion, anyone who likes F1, and gaming, will most likely like this game....its quite realistic, (INCLUDING THE PIT STOPS WHICH WAS A MASSIVE LET DOWN IN "GRAND PRIX CHALLENGE") this game has mad pit stops, also has all the 2004 drivers at their correct teams, and all the liverys look great, minus the cigarette advertising.
so when it comes out here, grab it and have some fun....if you're good it will be fun. if not, new controllers can always be purchased, and walls can be patched up

this would have to be 1 of, if not the, longest post ive posted since joining this forum
