The Ford Fairlane G220 scored impressively in The Courier-Mail Queensland Car of the Year 2003 Awards announced this week.

The Fairlane G220 was a runaway winner of the Prestige category, scoring 13 out of a possible 18 votes.

so how does the fairlane win awards but yet sell in such small numbers....

as much as I love the fairlane atm its got nothing other than styling on the statesman IMO.

thats true, they do advertise/sponser/market there products ALOT better than ford but that excuse is becoming old, and pretty piss weak IMO.

Like I said if you line up a fairlane and a statesman and look at the specs...the statesman craps on the fairlane from a fair height.

If you dont have the actual hardware in the first place then you are going to struggle. Lets be honest, its the chassis department within Ford has been dragging Fords sorry butt around for the last 5 years or so. All the falc's have handled well, and its only of late that we have the power. But still a bit more needs to be done.

Well done Ford.....2003 will be a very black year for the GM trophy room lol.

I'm glad the government wish to spend our money on this type of car and fleets/ limo business's. For without them I'm sure the sales would be pityful. Is it worth it ?
I suppose seeing they are producing them it is.

Don't flame me but imo they are all big ass boots ugly and no style and the new Stateman/Caprice has gone backwards from the previous model.
