Fresh from the revelation from Laminge about a supposed Ford 2 door model I was talking to one of the drivers that come to the motor dealership I work at (no, not a Ford dealer). I said to him about the 2 door supercar thing and he says "yeah, I know". This driver is a parts driver for one of Australias premier Ford dealers. I asked him how he knew and he said he has seen the new microcat catalogs for the new model. He says it has a picture of the 2 door on the front of it and that he had only just seen it. I dont know if this is crap but he is very serious. He reckons he will grab a photocopy of the picture and give it to me. We will see.

So have Ford shown any intention of building a 4x4 Falcon ute of wagon that isn't a rebody like the orange wagon shown this year?

R5 Double cab ute is dead.

R7 crossover vehicle is a premonition of what Raptor will look like in 2004.

I dont see what is so 'ground breaking' or 'revolutionary' about the R7, it's just following on from the Jap and European soft-roaders and cross over cars.

If they want something different, they should do the Raptor. In fact, no, they should make 4WD available across the Falcon ute range. Imagine how many government and fleet buyers would buy a cab chassis XL ute, 6cyl with 4WD. There is a real opportunity to corner the commercial vehicle market and directly challenge the Hilux, but for some reason Ford isnt interested!

To me it just makes plain sense!!

R7 is a pointer to Raptor. R5 was the double cab ute RW.

Wasnt that double cab ute fitted with a 4WD system??? That was Raptor wasnt it? Now Im really confused

In my opinion the ute should be made available with 4WD - for the reasons outlined in my post above.
