Well i assume your going to hire a Ford, if so then Hertz is the go as they have Falcons for their large cars.
Guess if you book early you can have it on the date guarenteed, but i'd reccomend asking to get insurance while you hire the car. They don't say much about it but if you get involved in a accident it could cost you your own pocket unless you take out insurance i think it's like an extra $11 a day.

sorry, i cant help with those questions :-( but I have another one.....
If you drive a rental car down dirt roads and get heaps of stone damage, like paint removal from under side skirts, is this OK?

actually, i'm thinking of getting a commodore! i'm not too fussed, as long as it's a large car. even a magna or an avalon will do me fine. just for a change. money is more of an issue than brand.

I think down here it's still 25 before you can hire a car, or maybe thats for sports car hiring....I know you at least have to be on your full licence.
best thing to do is ring and check.

i mean, if i can't hire a car then there's no chance in hell i'll be able to go to melb, and i will NOT be a happy chappy.
Why arnt you driving down? Surely it would have to be cheaper than renting a damn car?

I looked at hiring a car when I went to Sydney last year. I could only find 1 company that hired to under 25's (I was 21 at the time) - but it was hell expensive. From memory it was Delta Europcar
and I think it was like $80 a day for a Toyota Echo. Plus the excess on the insurance is like $4000! Bloody rental bastards!
