Fiesta XR2

Wow!! Come on guy's... you've been forgetting to visit that titan part of the website - the Fiesta/Ka section....:p

Thought as much lol... Anyway....

" Hi,

Does anyone know of any mid-late 80's XR2's (Fiesta not Capri) in Australia? I'm a pom, got an XA 302, and thought what a good little runaround it would be for Sydney. Anyone know shipping costs from the uk? Would I have to pay 50% import duty? Would it's rarity value over here mean it would be worth good money at the end of all this? Anyone like to stick their neck out and put a value on an immaculate '87 XR2?

Cheers,

Stu"

Re: Fiesta XR2

As for Value. Uk prices can be from 200 to 1500 pound. A few modded ones in MAX power, REVS and performace Ford (uk) for sale.

Re: Fiesta XR2

Yea; they're cheap as ... in the uk. But what about here though...

ELR8 - Supposing I had an mint '87 for $6 - what would you say? Just playing with some figures I recon thats what it could be done for from the uk to here..

Could put the same argument for XR3's/3i's I guess.. and I do believe it could be done without losing money...

Re: Fiesta XR2

i drove an XR2 in Perth about 10 years ago, and dont know what happened to it. festers are very rare in oz, sadly. as XLR8 said, keep an eye on unique cars mag, but also check on carpoint. there is also a sierra XR4i for sale on ebay if that interests you.

Re: Fiesta XR2

I've seen 1 or 2 on the road down in Melbourne (may have been the same white one).

How did they get in to the country. Did some Pom bring out their personal car? Seeing as they were cheapish in the UK does that mean that it wan't worth the cost to bring them out here (probably why I see more Sierras than Fiestas)?

I dont think you would be to far away with $6k. The problem would be getting a mint one. When i was over last year i had a look around. XR3s etc including cabs come up in unique cars quite regular. My choice would be an XR2....love em!
