3 guys go to a hotel and decide to stay in the same room because it’s cheaper. The room costs $30, so easily they pay $10 each. Anyhow, the hotel clerk enforces a $5 discount for the gentlemen. He sends his busboy to give the men the $5 discount. However, on the way the busboy realizes there are only 3 men, and $5 cant be split evenly. He decides to take $2 and give each guy $1 each instead.
So effectively, each man payed only $9 each for the room... which totals to $27. And if you add the $2 the busboy took, that totals $29.. where’s the extra dollar gone?

pfffffft what extra doller... the 3 people pay $10 each and the busboy was ordered to give back $5 (did'nt say to split it - damn theiving busboy). So originally it cost the 3 of them $30, they should have got back $5 and only paid $25, but bus boy gives back only $3 and keeps $2, hence making them pay $27 instead of $25.

if anyone else bothered to add correctly youd find that the busboy keeps $2 making the room cost $28 not $27 so your all wrong.
