I've got a mate a school who has pointed me in the direction of a company that sells second hand tyres for great prices.

The tyres that I am after in particular are 225/50/R16 and the ones they have are Bridgestone B530. on average they are at about 70-80%. They sell these for a tidy (for me) sum of $40 each.

The only problem is that I need tyres now and they dont have any in stock, havent for a couple of weeks, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other places that sell tyres as cheap as this with similar quality, or do I have to wait it out....

Theres a few places at Tullermarine in Melb.

They have good prices too, and if you are like me, go through sets in 10,000(no burnouts, lots of sliding) or so, its quite a saving!
Its fun to try out different top brands. Amazing the diff in grip compared to a cheapy new tyre! I've tried Pirelli,Michelin,German sports Dunlops....

I second Melbs cheapest tyres. They are on Abbots Rd Dandenong. I've spent quite a few $ on tyres in there. They even had a good set of drag slicks that would have suited if I had of wanted them.

been there and all there tyres are crap. had problems with them from day one!!

stripped two threads on my hubs, on my old VS

and stripped two lock nuts. On the VX SS now.

Also sold me two dodgy 18's one out of round threw my car everywhere and charged me $100 each and didnt tell me til they were on my car. Also jacked my car up wrong and threw my camber caster kit out and had to get it realighned. cheap tyres yes but 17's and 18's i wouldnt bother.

Try wreckers too, you'd be amazed what they sometimes have!

EED-250, Midvale Discount Tyres are usually pretty good, also Midvale Secondhand Tyres do retreads and s/h tyres reasonable. Give those two a go!
