Big Daddy

G'day all,
Is there anyone out there that is up to scratch with Firefox?
I posted on the Site Support Forum but not much luck.
I've recently bought a new computer that run Windows XP for the OS, and downloaded Firefox 1.0, but every time I go to use it I keep getting these prompts "Connection was refused"
and "Website could not be found. Please type the name and try again". I've updated everything from Nortons 2004 to the Security Centre to downloading and installing Microsoft SP2 as suggested by a fellow member and still no luck.
At first I thought that it may have been a breakdown at downloading time, but I've uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed 3 times so far with no luck at all. I've had Firefox before on the old 'puter and never had this problem. Please help as IE is piss poor.
any suggestions.

Matey I had this problem ........ I tried a diffrent mirror to download from & it worked fine ........

Sorry I can help with the reasons .... but it now works for me

Im sure you get the option of downloading from a your own area in the world ... like we are in the Pacific region .... I endd up getting mine from the USA part from memory .....

Oh true!!! I'm not sure if that option was there. Mind you it did have 2 English versions to choose from and I kept choosing the same version every download. Chur' I'll try the other version and see what happens.

Nahhh!!! Just ain't happening for me. I checked out the trouble shooting page but I just went to school for lunch, hahaha in other words made no sense at all. I started a download for some kinda code for firefox but it takes 4 hours to download and I have no idea what the code is for. I'll keep at it cos IE really sucks at the mo'.

Wooooohoooo. Well it took nearly 3 hours but finally got Firefox up and running, nothing like browsing in quick time.
Thanks for all your help there Mother, it turns out that Nortons was blocking it from accessing the internet. Your suggestions were awesome and greatly appreciated.

lol i tried fire fox for a while but it gave me the shites so i went back to internet explorer (hehehe im old skool ) coz its practically problem free for me
