Hey guys, was just wondering "what is your fitness routine"?
Hopefully I will be joining the AirForce in October and I need to get upto scratch.
I need some ideas for a routine and was wondering if you fitness guru's could help out .
I'm not "Large" so I do not require a routine that will lose weight (wouldn't mind losing say 5kg but) I'm just simply unfit. I want to be pretty prepared and be fit before I join, I don't want to be left behind the pack.
I can't think of a routine that will involve a bit of fun (so I don't get bored).
Thanks Muchly dudes
Mason.
There is actually a pamphlet that the army has put out called "am I fit enough for the army" which is essentually a fitness program for 5 or more weeks.
Think what they test you on is the following -
beep test to level 7.5 - 56 20m shuffles for a total of 1120m in 6 min 30 secs.
45 situps
15 pushups
plus ive been told there is a 2.4k run in 12 and a half minutes.
One of my mates has just done Kapooka, and although its the army, I cant see the airforce being any worse than that. Ill ask him when I get the chance.
I find it hugely funny ( in an ironical sense) that if you volunteer for the army you have to be fit enough to pass their tests. If you get drafted they take you as long as you are fit enough to hold a gun for 30 seconds!!
Good luck lover boy!
(PS Minge... didn't I see you using a golf buggy to get to the car yesterday??)

The beep test, 45 sit ups and 15 push ups are army entry tests. The navy and air force have to do 6.5 on the beep test.
The 2.4k run is part of the BFA (basic fitness assesment), that's a standard you have to pass every year once you're in
I know the navy is much easier on recruits than the army fitness wise, I'd imagine the air force would be much the same.
