Anybody see the ad on tele tonight advertising AU3 falcon runouts with 5 year warranty and $1000 of free petrol?

If I wasn't planning to build a new house i'd definately be snapping one of these babys up.

What do you all think?

Is this a good enough "carrot" to allow Ford to sell all the AU3's before BA? IMO I believe it is.

It's a bloody good carrot IMO. Be nice if BA came out with the same warranty. Dreaming perhaps?

Sounds like Ford are counter acting what holden are doing with a 6 year 175,000km factory warrenty.

Does anyone know what km's this AUIII 5 year warrenty offers.

I was thinking the same thing. If the BA is as good as Ford want us to believe then why not offer a 5 year/100,000km waranty.

Not only does it give the purchaser peace of mind, but it might also swing fence sitting purchasers towards the Ford.
For example, if I'm a buyer who doesn't care about the make and model of a car, just the options/features/price and Ford has a 3 year warranty and Holden has 5 or 6 years then it would lead me to think the Holden product is better since Holden has enough faith in it to offer such a long warranty.

yeah your right the warrenty is a big issue with most buyers.
Remember thought that Fords 3 year is bumper to bumper while the holden one does have exemptions and after 3 years only covers the first $1000 on major mechanicals.
The main problem is that some of the part vendors can't offer good warrenty's so Ford can't either.
For example Walkers exhaust systems have been mild steel and they can't last for more than 3 years with out some form of failure.
However for the Barra they are changing to stainless so maybe we will get a better deal! I sure hope so!

Hmm I hear that there are great deals aorund.. If you shop around you can find discounts of up to $5000 and have the purchase price as drive away.
