The same thing happened to me yesterday on my work computer.
From memory I think it was the C2R ad that required it. I've been using the work computer for 12 months to view this site and that was the first time it asked for Flash.

I've only seen it after reformatting. Yep, it is the C2R ad that requests it. Given that so many sites use Flash nowadays I'm surprised it's an issue for people. However, I'd hate to have to download all the various updates over 56k though. Having a work laptop is cool: download all the updates at work... enjoy them at home!

I am getting the same thing and it is annoying the hell out of me. I think it is asking you to download the latest Flash, I have an older version of Flash and it works fine I have no need for newer version.

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.'So that was nice.
People, the reason why is probably because the C2R ad was created with the latest version of Flash... There's an option to save it as an older version but obviously they never did this. If you got the patience just download. Not only will the error go away, you will also be up to date with the software Updates are created to benefit the user not hassle them lol
