cool ford.boy's decided to get a PDA

....but I don't know what to get.
I'm leaning more towards the pocket PC versions, but I have no idea. Can anyone with a palm, Pocket PC, or other please give me some advice?
Alls I know is that at the moment, my crappy little 64K organiser is dying under the load.

yeah go the pocket pc's they rock!!!
The Toshiba E330 is an awesome machine for around $650 only disadvantage being the lack of a CF port. It does however have SD cards.
I've looked around and this is by far the best little beasty.
Don't even bother with the Palms they suck.

carazy - what's a cf port?

AND, I went looking around yesterday, and I think that the Toshibas are the way to go.
Do you think it would be worth my while going on ebay?

um yeah If you don't get ripped off and pay attention to the model numbers than ebay is the way to go.
Just make sure you know what the retail price is before you get caught up in the bidding and pay to much.
Ie the Toshiba 310 is a 200mhz old machine while the 330 or 335 (same thing apart from software) have the newer 300mhz intel processor.
The reason the Toshiba is the best is cause of the high colour screen and nice solid build for the $$$. Oh and a CF port is Compact flash. A lot of PCMCIA type expantion cards (modems/network cards/GPS) use the CF port and it's also the cheapest form of expandable memory. Don't worry to much though as the cost of SD memory isn't much more expensive and the card company's are starting to support this port type.
If you have the cash go the 740 (I think that the code) as it's has both port types and even has bluetooth build in. Excellent build quality and design. If I had the cash (and was alowed to spend it) that's what I'd have.
The O2XDA is great but I'm old school and I prefer a phone to be a phone only so it's small and I don't need to worry if I break it.
I don't feel comfortable walking in to a club with a $1400 mobile (o2xda)

Same - I only want a PDA for a PDA. I have a phone, and want to keep it (however crap it is) I like the look of the 740.

We evaluated PDA's late last year. We checked out the top of the range Toshiba and the same in the HP/Compaq iPaq.

We ended up buying the iPaq as we preferred the screen and the form factor. The Toshiba was nice, liked the builtin WiFi, but it just wasn't quite the same.

I have a Sony Clie, T615 and would probably buy another Sony (the foldup type) in a flash.

We've just been shown the Blackberry devices and looks like we'll be evaluating them soon, too. We also looked, briefly, at the O2 XDA. I saw them in the US last year. Still don't replace a phone.

We'll be looking at the new Ericsson, P800, when it finally comes out too.

So, the story from my POV is that it depends what you want to use them for!

to organise my life, as i said, my crappy little organiser is crumbling - to play the occasional game, and to type things up on the move.
