Wouldn't that only be for use in the US? In Australia it should still be OK, We've had it on and off for the last 50 years.

it doesnt affect australia at all, only the US. i think its a sham since ford were using this name long before who ever has it now. guess ford have learned a valuable lesson about patents and copyrights and so forth.

Wait a tick, under the FTA we are having with the US, our Interlectual Property laws are being harmonised with that of the US. Hence, eventually, the same core law will apply, therefore such a judgment could be made out here too.

They better not call it Falcon. Once Falcon was an American, but these days the word means "Aussie Ford". Call it Fairmont if maybe? Or they could think of another name starting with F. Who knows? Maybe Ford could be ORIGINAL??

I don't think that should affect Ford Australia. Its because of some stupid tyre company that isn't even in Australia, and the car here is "Falcon Futura" not plain Futura. Lots of companies use the same name for things anyway...
Holden Monaro GTS, HSV GTS, then you have Dodge Viper GTS and even the Dodge Viper GTSR concept and HSV GTS-R. Nissan (Datsun at the time) had the GT-R badge a long time before anyone, yet then you have Torana XU1-GTR, McLaren F1 GTR, Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, now a Ford Mustang GT-R concept. Oh, Nissan also did a Skyline GTS-R during the 1990s hehe. Not to mention everyone who uses the name GT..........
