Ford Expedition

Saw one the other day at a shopping centre carpark and was RHD as well, must say they're big mutha's... a private import no doubt and a very nice looking vehicle.
Does anyone here think Ford should have these vehicles brought to Oz like Holden with the Suburban or is is a waste of time?

The Suburban was removed from Holden's line-up because the market for it was too small. Ford has obviously learned from their mistake.

I have seen a few F150 utes around. The F150 is the "baby" or the range, but looks like it would dwarf a Landcruiser.

With no F150 in Australia, doing a RHD on just the Expedition would be a bit expensive. The Mustang isn't selling well, so I can't imagine an Expedition would do all that well either. Besides, we want to see the Raptor go well don't we? However, I wonder how well a Loncoln Navigator would compete against a Range Rover in Oz. Or pehaps we'll see a LWD Raptor out of Geelong.

If you think an Expedition is big, you should see an Excursion. I mean holy shit, I sat my 1987 VW Syncro Camper next to one and it was 1.5 times as long, almost as high (and a VW Syncro Camper isn't exactly short), and about 1.5 times as wide.

Maybe the best way to have one in Oz would be to buy the RHD running gear from the factory or from a totalled unit at the wreckers, and bolt it all into an Excursion yourself.

You'd have a hard time finding a shed to park one in though, and you aren't going to fit under the local K-mart carpark I can tell you!

There have been reports in the US of Excursion owners doing serious damage to the vehicles' roofs trying to fit them in their garages.

But in my opinion, if those people are buying the car for the wrong reasons, it's their own fault.

Isn't the Excursion bigger than the Suburban?

The Excusion is based on the F350, and is the world's largest vehicle of its type. It's availabe with a 5.4 V8, 6.8 V10, and 7.3 turbodiesel.

I thought the Expedition was based on the F250? In which case it should be easy to build them in RHD.

Don't Brazil makes RHD Expeditions, as they do the F-Series?

I did 5000 miles across the USA in an Excursion, huge is is an understatement. It made Explorers look like toy cars.
