Hey here's a hot and sensative topic, looking at stats on paper, it appears as though the manual S60R is faster than a GT (0-100 in 5.8) which is about the same as a ClubSport... any unbiased people here that have heard or know of it to be different? I guess either way we'll be struggling to beat some of our older folks wearing their hats with our Performance Fords.... How embarrassing. Luckily the auto version is of no threat to you all as it is detuned, and only does the sprint in 7.5...which is still pretty quick

ahh its still a ford. Its not as if that being a performance v8 means that your the fastest thing on the road - well maybe if your in a konigsegg.

Aye, everything I have heard points to it being a pretty quick car.
220kw + 4wd.
That said, it wouldn't surprise me if the GT hosed it in the 1/4 mile - I would expect a reasonable 0-100 advantage in the 4wd system, which will work against it after the launch . . .
My GF has a S40. Apart from the lack of power and my objections to front drivers, its a very nice car both to sit in and drive - it seems to sit very well on the road and round corners

Volvo are getting their act together but they still need to make their AWD system REAR BIASED!!!! It's a stupid compromise at the moment - basically a FWD until slip is detected in the rear end... wrong *****en way around IMO!

Oh well - it certainly is better than FWD only! I don't think it should be of too much concern in regards to it's performance - claimed figures are never reliable, I don't care what manufacturer is making them. Oh and its price is over $100k as well which detracts from its credibility.

major problem with volvos is the enormously stupid price tag. the resale values of the cars is pretty weak too. nice cars but gotta agree with the need for a rwd bias awd.

Yeah dont believe it, every time i drive my mums C70, i am always thinking everyone else are the Volvo drivers, cos I drive fast!
But they're not Volvo drivers their just stupid bloody Victorians!
