Just been talking to the people at Ford Insure, and since i last spoke to them (last week) they have a new underwriter.
They are now underwritten by Swan Insure. (used to be SGIO)
To most ppl this wont mean much, but to me it the difference between insurance or no insurance.
Basically the premium i was quoted last week has raised $200/yr
And they will not insure me because of my extractors.(age) I am allowed a cat back though.
To make things worse i got a new quote from sgio which was $700/yr higher than the last. Ill give em another ring in a few days and see what hapens.
QUOTE of the day "if u rang last week it would have been alright"
Anyway, just thought id let u know as some people were considering changing to them because of their allowing of mods. U are still allowed mods but it depends on age.

Back when I started out with insuring my cars (12 yrs ago) I constantly had dramas. Ranging from not insuring v8's for under 21's, even though the insurance company insured my v8 for the previous 12 months no probs...
I ended up going through a broker, and that made a heap of difference. I started off with Unique Car Insurance, but I hear they are not as compeditive price wise as they used to be.
'67 Mustang V8 4sp... what fun to drive!
Bah, Swann insurance sucks arse! I had them when I first got my XR, but as soon as I mentioned the word mod, and that meant ANY mod, it was 'nah, we couldn't insure that' - hello NRMA. Pity NRMA aren't in VIC, cos I went to Ford Insure, and it seems now I've come full circle back to Swann again.
