Re: Ford Motor Co. facing a lawsuit

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Ford did exaggerate, but I'd have to ask is Consumer Report left the hand brake on. For Years, Consumer Report has (overall) had a bias against American Made Autos.

Re: Ford Motor Co. facing a lawsuit

gee you guys have tough laws over there if a company can be sued for something that is out of their hands.
Fuel milage changes for drivers and conditions.

I can get 37 mpg out of a 4 speed auto 6 cyl falcon here in australia but the next person may not.

Re: Ford Motor Co. facing a lawsuit

Dont know how your figures are arrived at in your countries , but in the EU the fuel economy figures are measured in a lab under the same conditions .So drivers and conditions dont come in to the equation .Be surprised if they dont use something similar in your countries

" The first thing to understand that a car’s “official” fuel economy figures are not measured by the manufacturer. Instead, they are calculated by the government to a uniform EU standard, using a standardised and carefully controlled laboratory testing program – known as the New European Driving Cycle. This means that every car on sale in Europe can be compared using the same tests, so you can compare the relative fuel economy of Car A with Car B. "
