I am a huge Ford fan and I am always the first to stand up for Ford where ever I go. The one thing I will never stand up for, however, are Fords ads. They are little more than woeful. From the Ford salesman that needs to hitch a ride with a truck (presumably because his Ford has broken down) to the Ford salesman at the party with all the girls that want to use him for a cheap (pricewise) car.
As much as I hate to say it, Holden are miles ahead in the marketing race. Their ads show respect, prestige and emotion. The Ford ads show how cheap Ford have to make their prices to sell. I just saw the Ford 10 day YES sale ads, and couldn't help feeling they were on par with a Big W or K-Mart ad.
I hope that Ford pick up their act with advertising on the BA Falcon, the car deserves respect and prestige. I hope Ford gives it that.

How much boost?
The initial 'We Have Iginition' ads were promising (remember the body kitted Fairmont Ghia that spun on the spot, as well as the gorgeous Cougar ad?), but otherwise the advertsing has been appaling.
And the T-Series was never advertised on TV once.. not ****ing ONCE. Ford, why do you think you couldnt sell any, huh?
Christ almighty, someone at Ford get in contact with the petrol heads here and get some help on how they reckon it should be done, I think they'd find there's plenty of good ideas about.
I think there were too many arty farty crankers trying to appeal to women and losers that see cars as a means of getting from A to B. There are plenty of people that do actually like driving cars, like heritage and nostalgia as well as seeing a car as a means of success.
Look at any BMW ad - they emphasise the performance of the car, the prestige of the car and the resale of the car!!
Fortunately I think that some of the arty types are no longer at Ford!

Whilst I agree with the overall sentiments the statement is not correct. In the early days of T-Series and FTE there was a series of concept ads featuring Cromley that ran for a 6 or se week period.
The ad where lowndes and that other bloke are driving around and the other bloke is thinking about how lowndesy loves the car sucks ass. WTF? no burnout or anything special?
Holden got it right with their storm ute ad, music that people can relate to and know(thunder [nar nar nar nah nah nah nar na]), showing the utes power going through all the gears and catching the young audience by cutting up. :)
Wheres a ford ad like this. I mean comon, the ford trucks ad (built ford tough) is just a disaster. Classifying the AU ute with the Courier!
And even the "We have Ignition" sounds dodgy, as if they only just got the thing to run properly!
(And they didnt have ingnition before?)

Comeon guys, you can do better.
/end rant
Where does Ford classify the Falcon Ute with the Courier, which ad does this exactly???
BTW the advertising that sparked this thread are Ford Dealer ads, not Ford ads so its up to the dealers to lift their game.
The ford trucks ads. yove seen them.
Also i was just thinking, even nissan has good ads, I love the ad where they have the 180kw patrol smoking the tyres while pulling the older patrol. It looks sweet.

Yes if Nissan can demonstrate how powerful their Patrol (to psycotic 4wd buyers out there) is why carn't Ford? Perhaps showing a Falcon GT towing a 747 or towing a Commidorre SS ! Ford needs to liven up and get some energy into their commercials. Not to mention that old excuse 'filmed under controlled conditions'.
