Ford Power? - bah!

What has happened to Ford Power in Victoria?

Mate of mine belongs to an Internet Crummydoor club. At the drop of a hat an impromptu cruise will attract 20-40 cars. It is the norm that this amount will attend. They are proud to cruise 'en masse' and show off their marque.

But what has happened to us? In Victoria we have through our internet club very few cruises. Those that have been run have been attended by very few cars. A cruise needs to be advertised for weeks to let people make up their minds if they will attend. What a lack-lustre turn out most are! What a lot of dithering old farts we have become! Is this what is happening to Ford? WHERE HAS FORD POWER GONE? Where has this apathy and lack of unity come from?

We need to get out there and be seen in a multitude. We need to have people look on and say "Wow, all those FORDS!" We need to be a united force to promote and advertise our wonderful marque.

But this will never happen with attitudes the way they are now. Get off your collective backsides Ford lovers. We need to show strength through numbers .....

Carolyn,

From your concearns i'm assuming your talking about a cruise for owners who have ford falcons of any era. I'm sure the XR club of Victoria do show their presence and are active with cruises events etc.

Must say in Sydney due to the integration of Fordforums and the Tickford Owners Club forums where getting good turnouts on cruises events etc.

I'd be up for any cruise.
Just set the date and time.

I have found the same thing with my EA-ED car club. One theory is that generally, the Ford fans are a bit 'down and out' at the moment with such incredible domination by Holden in every market segment except for the utes.

And it's the same on the street, with VLs the cheap car of choice, complete with VT SS mags, of course.

i cant see why not??

we all enjoy our cars and meeting fellow car enthusiests dont we??

just join up and ask, i dont think it would be a problem as i have said earlier, some of the ford forum boys have joined us before.

wouldnt it be fun with a ford/ holden shoot out and have some intelligent conversation, and maybe a pizza as well, rather than some of the crap we read on the forums??

P/S russellw, i think i have met you and your car before at mangalore

regards jim
