Ford self-park video

Here's kind of a grainy but cool video of Ford giving self-parking demo at the Detroit Auto Show:

Re: Ford self-park video

I'm just wondering, why a women at the wheel?

Actually my dad's car does that already, but it's kinda scary not having control of the wheel. He doesn't usually use that and, although I see some utility in that, I prefer to park manually.

NICE one... this should help some women but also some man...it's a little bit scary to see the car handling the manoeuvres all by itself...but wouldn't mind using it on those days you just don't want to go to the front...go to the back...and once again to the front...a little bit to the right...your just a little bit too far from the sidewalk...ohhhh...nevermind...it stays like this...

Re: Ford self-park video

That was damn close to the vehicle in the rear. I think this is a bad idea. Imagine someone throwing it in reverse, hands off the steering wheel and not realizing it doesn't stop itself. Just do like I do, drive around the block and hope for a 'double' open spot, or walk a ways.
