I've seen a few comments around here saying that Tickford Wings should only be on XR's and the like. That sounds fair to me, but what about the AU Fairmont Ghia's?. Just the same as the XR6, but has independent rear end and about 100KG heavier, not to mention the full leather They have the Tickford wings on the engine but only VCT badge on the guard. Mine also has a factory fitted Tickford alarm with the wings moulded into it. I did put the T-series air-intake on but it fits in nice with the alarm and engine. Am i a "wanna be"????, lol.
So where does the AU ghia fit in, Falcon clubs or XR clubs?. Can you put Tickford wings on the guards without looking like a "wanna be"?, not that i want to, i want a sleeper, lol.
Personally, I think any car with the VCT in it has every right to wear the wings. Lets face it, the VCT motor was done by Tickford. There was only 1 VCT motor, not a Ford variant and a Tickford Variant. The VCT is a true Tickford motor and any car with it in is certainly a Tickford in my opinion.
As far as I know, if it has factory fitted Tickford running gear in it, it's entitled to the wings. Personally, I couldnt give a rats what car the wings are mounted on, as long as they are clean and well presented, or at least show some respect for the heritage.

I dont have a problem with Ticky wings on an AU Ghia, the hardest part however is finding where to position them...
I always just liked the 1 on the boot to the right hand side of the number plate (on series I's neways) I think the extra badges on the guards sometimes look stupid, but if you removed the VCT ones then it might look pretty good. One of my favourite AU models was the Fairmont Ghia with tickford kit and 17's, those cars are gorgeous and still turn heads today..
i think if your car has the mods from that model and is a worthy ride to wear the badge then why shouldnt you have the badge..
im all for it in the right circumstances..
one thing i dislike is the cars that wear all the badges,fairmont,xr6,tickford etc and to top it off have a standard GLI garnish LOL

amen. always loved the look of those....the bigger grill made the lights on the AU look good, where as, IMO the smaller series 1 falcon grill made them look terrible.

if this is the case, then EF/EL Ghia deserves it too
VCT = *basically* head related changes
IMO just as deserving as any car with a Tickford spec head.
i don't care if ppl put tickford badges on anything, show your support!
saying that, they won't make it onto my car :D
