Anyone else think they've gone beyond what many of us might have thought 12-24 months ago?

Lets look at roughly what we've been observing on this site in the past 12 months...

Fords increasing commitment in local motorsport, the aquisition of Lowndes, Ambrose's surprising rookie year and a better performance from Fords teams during the race season.

The 220kW XR8, the XR8 Pursuit ute, the Herrod ute, the Mustang Cobra, the SR Falcon and the XR8 Rebel (oh ok, and the Laser SR2.)

The Ford Forums trip!

Now, the T3's, the new Pursuit ute, the Cobra RA and the AUIII.

We all recognise Ford & Tickford has a long haul to re-conquer Holden/HSV, but I can't help thinking they've done a better than expected job of starting that process, and with the AV to come, things are going to get better. I think it's an exciting time to be a Ford nutcase, and the level of enthusiasm seems to be increasing amongst forum members all the time. Should be another very interesting 12 months ahead of us.

I told you when I joined this Forum that Geoff had moved the passion dial right over and that we were going to get serious at last. what you have seen is for practice. The coming months are for real.

Sure is.. for sheer effort I'd give Ford & Tickford an A+. Surely with the modular engines production of the cars has got to be easier than it is now. To hand build each engine is surely a big pain in the rear.
They could take the easy way out and wait 12 months for the new engines but they've decided to give it a fair dinkum crack with what they've got. Two thumbs up from me.. :thumbup: :thumbup:

Absolutely Venom S, I couldn't be happier at the moment for Ford, knowing the effort they're putting into the current lineup and the work going into AV, things are down right looking awesome..

It brings a tear to the eye of this old battler..

The support and passion for performance models shown increasingly by Ford and Tickford over the past months culminating in what I've seen today (and on the trip) has made me VERY glad and proud that I was involved in the founding of the NSW Tickford Owners Club. I know for a fact that my good mate Sam, also one of the three founders, is over the moon at these new models and the general vibe going around the brand.

Us enthusiasts have been through some dark times recently, and at the time we started the club things were not nearly as bright as they are now.

Good work guys - keep it coming! Your clubs need you! :D

I think the secret is Ford have got the product, Ford have got loyal support in the marketplace and Ford have got people who really care, both in positions of power and on the shop floor.

Good to see you joining in tonight David. Anyone know if the head of HSV is 'chatting' to his loyal supporters on LS1?
