Just so i can finish the arguement once and for all at work, was there a Ford XD or XE turbo 6 release by ford? I thought it was called the Grand Prix or maybe Dick Johnson special but I remember seeing one that had big flarred guards like the Torana's did (the pop rivet type holes). If so, was it made by Ford or was it an aftermarket jobby? Thanks
The car was definitely aftermarket, produced by Dick Johnson in 1983, called Grand Prix Turbo. 250ci 6 injected, t4 turbo , one colour option (tru blu) running 8psi approx, 0-400m in 14.9 and $23,000 when new.
thanks for all the replies. dick releasing a ford is as good as a factory making one. the one i had in mind was in the last post, the tru blu xe turbo. Im not sue how many were made but there was one for sale about 6 months ago at bowen hills caryard for $11000, looked sooooo tough. thanks again
