Went to the opening round at Motorplex last night and it was Brilliant.
The Firepower lane has been re-named the Ford dealer team lane, all support vehicles are Fords, painted the same colour scheme and the BA safety car gets raffled off and goes to a lucky winner at the end of the season.
92.9 FM radio announcers Bernie, Troy and Zara were there to add a bit of spice, with a humorous type drag between 2 Ford dealer team cars. I think it was Bernie who left a 150 m skidmark at the end of the strip before burying it in the sand.(So the commentator said)

Maurice Hamersley did a burnout on the burnout section that would make Gary Myers envious. Maurice had bolted a compressor onto the engine of his holden panel van and it Rocked.
MH was burnout champ 2 years running followed by a second placing.

Few quality national records went tumbling to make us Sandgropers proud.

Certainly looks like Ford are on the comeback trail in a big way.
All i can say is "yeehar".

bugger, i wanted to go down there lastnight but had a bday party. yeah its great to see the ford guys down there, i saw them do a few runs at the test and tune a couple of weeks ago.

p.s. is that an EF or EL theyve got?

Safety car is a BA, the sedans AU's and the fire crews have AU utes.(At least it looked like it from a distance)
