I would like to hear what peoples opinion is of the lineup names, I think it's ok but I don't seem to be able to get used to the Forte name, each time I say or hear it, it reminds me of a stuck up person drinking a larte at the Dome cafe. I personally think GLI was better as people understood this as your bread and butter car, the tough fleet or budget family car, I just think the name Forte gives the car an upperclass sound that isnt the case.
yep I agree BOF. I would like to see Ford work on the names especially the T-SERIES brand.
As for the "Forte" name, get rid of it and just call it Falcon. Futura is fine I guess, Fairmont is nice, but I think a unique name for the Ghia should be used also, not "Fairmont Ghia".
Does names really influence sales? I'm sure Commdore exectutive as the stock car would make it sound more upclass to, so maybe ford tried to do the same thing?

I think the "Forte" name will forever be associated with AUI. But then again we will have to wait and hope AV will change that. The other names are fine IMO. Although maybe the T-Series should have a few changes. I particularly like the name "T3" or something like that.
Hmmmm....I personally think that the Forte, Futura, Fairmont etc etc names don't carry as much weight as the model of the car (ie. AUI, AUII or AUIII). So they can call it whatever they want....having different names won't sell any more or any less cars. The names are just there for identification sakes but as for a selling point, the model (ie. AUI, AUII etc) has the weight in my opinion.
