It looks like I may have found myself a new ride. 1991 nissan 180sx with 17's, 3in exhaust etc. Pretty much stock other than that (SR20 turbo, 5 speed etc)
I met a dude thru a mate of a mate and he is willing to sell it to me, landed and complied for under 10 grand
Its gunmetal grey with around 90 000k's on the clock (is still sitting in japan)
Im in all sorts of bother with what to do. My mates all own silvias and the like, and they are fast. Their handling i could never achieve with any Eseries. Rego is cheaper, they cost less to run.
on the other side, insurance will be a no no, there is no room for more than one passenger and I dont have the same comfort levels found in my Fairmont
The options are
-Buy it, then sell it straight away and make some cash
-Leave it in Queensland at my parents house as a toy
-Give the Fairmont back to my olds to use and have the 180 to myself as a daily driver
Either way, i'll need a 10k personal loan to buy it and put rego on it (not a problem with my Credit Union, only problem is with me not sure if I want to go into debt). If i dont give the Fairmont back to my olds I still have to borrow 5 grand to give to them due to them wanting the part ownership thing to cease as I am now interstate.
Even if its not fully enough to pay your parents out totally, its still better to be close to fully debt free. I can recall how good it feels each time i come back from an Army course and suddenly my Credit card is all good and i can go and buy stuff i need and service the car.
