I think it would be cool if FPV did an Explorer with the Boss 290 in it, and better handling maybe probably with air suspension so u can raise and lower it for the best on-road and off-road experience and a sporier interior based on the Limited. Brembo brakes would be good too!
It would sit nicely above the FPV Territory Turbo and unrealistically below an FPV Expedition with the F150 Lightning engine
But seriously FPV Explorer with Boss 290 would do well i am sure, and would go as hard as a BMW X5 4.8
It would also put HSV Avalanche in its place. If anyone is gonna reply saying the 5.4 wont fit, Saleen made a 351 Explorer in the old model, and the 4.6 fits with ease, so i cant see why it wouldnt.
No need for a Boss290 - just fit one of THESE babies to the 4.6L ...

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
Ford HQ made it quite clear to FPG/SVT that there is to be NO performance variant of the Explorer to be made, I would assume FPV are under the same restrictions.
Personally, If FPV could make a case for it and got permission to build one I'd be all for it.

but the thing is there is no case for it..what a waste of metal.
Who the heck would buy these things?..I mean really what demographic would you target it at?
I dont think chevypower alone will be enough.
In america they work because they have roads that accomadate these oversized pompus wagons. Petrol is a lot cheaper (im pretty sure), and hence buying and maintaing a car wouldn't be as costly over there.

Check, www.,ford.com. and follow link to Lincoln Blackwood Navigator site. Now ,thats a SUV !!! OR Ford Expedition with the V10 diesel !!!
The V10 is a petrol engine, are you thinking of the 7.3 V8 Powerstroke V8 diesel (or new 6.0) ?
looks like some people are against a performance SUV, well i stil llove the idea, and maybe even GT stripes down the side :-)
IT would do a lot to the FPV brand in having something decent that isnt a Falcon, I think there should be an FPV Focus too. Maybe a Courier with a Mustang or XR6T engine would be good too. Toyota are making a 200kw Hilux
