FPV Merchandise Pricing
(Warning, a little long)
Happy Jack, I would just like to broach with you my thoughts on the FPV Merchandise pricing.
I think the overall objective of the merchandising is to increase FPV brand awareness.
In the past, Ford merchandise has been unrealistically overpriced. $50-60 for a polo shirt is a massive pile of crap. So, I have never bought one.
My point is, how many others people that are huge Ford fans like me, that are not buying your merchandise.
More disturbing is, how many other people that are not big Ford fans, and have thought about buying the merchandise, but refrained because of the price?
This is disturbing because, people are simple creatures. If they have a team shirt/jacket, they will usually barrick for that team/company.
If these people start supporting Ford/FPV because of a cheaper shirt, they will follow the race teams, and eventually when they come to purchase a car, they will have a already formed brand loyality.
Cheaper merchandise will also incourage people to give the products as presents.
Example, I was given a Roosters jersey for a present. I have never followed League. What team did I follow all year? The Roosters. I even went to a few games. (We will win!!)
I am not saying that the merchandise should be to cheap. Ford Performance Vehicles is a premium product. One that will be aspired to.
High prices will only rip off your supporters and make you bucketloads of cash.
You are not in the clothing business. You make fast cars.
Happy Jack, you can send my employment offer for a marketing position through the PM system.
