FPV sales: drive.com.au
good call by the fellas at drive.com.au
"The sales race
Ford's third manifestation of a performance division is proving to be the most successful. Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV), barely a year old, has sold 541 cars year to date (mainly the GT, GTP and Pursuit ute), while HSV has turned out 2100 vehicles."
not only have they got the sales number wrong (over 1000 now not 541) and the duration (6months is more like it) but they also say "mainly the GT, GTP and Pursuit ute" Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't FPV only sell GT, GTP and Pursuit ute. so where the hell is the rest of the FPV sales coming from
Shouldn't expect anything else from Drive. they've always been a load of shit when it comes to reporting ford related articles. always the first the reort when something goes wrong at ford but hardly a negative word about holden.
maybe they're affiliated with MOTOR and the ppl responsible for the bullshit decision to vote the Astra turbo BFYB winner (yeh, i know they're affiliated with carpoint.com.au but i'm pissed off at the moment)
a quote from autoweb.com.au
"FPV has produced more than 1000 vehicles since it started production earlier this year, has built almost 5000 Boss V8 engines for the FPV models and XR8 Falcon and has played a crucial role in the development and production of the phenomenally successful Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo."
ok, i found another quote, this time from Goauto.com.au
"* Ford is not be prepared to reveal sales of its new Ford Performance Vehicles range, but HSV has no such hesitation. To the end of August, FPV had sold 541 cars compared to 2058 for HSV."
what the hell is going on here. have i got this wrong. has FPV produced 1000 vehicles but only sold 541. i can't believe this with the length of the waiting list.
Someone please explain.
