Powerstroke II 6 liter V8 turbo-diesel will be here in March in our F-series. There is talk of a larger capacity SOHC V8 for Fairlane for around 240-260kw (probably to avoid having the power bulge from DOHC).
Not sure about the reliability of these rumours, but someone I met was able to find this out. (I'm still in doubt about the bigger Fairlane engine).

A bonet bulge on the long wheel base falcons would be absolutely fabulous. I am sure if FOA wanted to get 240kW out of the Barra 220 engines they'd have no problems doing so but that would vehicle power line ups at the moment.

Regarding the F-series, these things are damn sexy.

fellas, the bonnet bulge is nothing to do with how many cams the engine has??? the reason for the bonnet bulge is to allow for the bigg-ass high flow air intake that the BOSS 260 and 290 engines have had fitted, i think it is a Cobra R intake can't remember, but yeah you could easily have th eboss engines in the fairlane without the bulge, just have to have a smaller intake

Thats a good point. Im not sure why they didnt go with the 32 valve jobby for the non-XR's with the Barra 220 head. That question has never been raised before I dont think.
