Re: galston gorge times

Ahh Galston Gorge - its a bit too tight and steep to really go too fast, Springwood Rd is a better proposition.

That being said myself and two mates are off to do "the george" today:

Suzuki GSXR750
Suzuki RG250
Kawasaki ZZR250

Will let you know how it went...

Re: galston gorge times

Re: galston gorge times

Guys its not worth it, Im in one of the Rural Fire Service brigades which works in the Gorge, heaps of people have come unstuck downthere.

Oh and FYI, response time for the Fire Brigade to the bottom of the Gorge is about 12 (Galston side) - 20 (Hornsby side) minutes after we get the trucks running, so - if your trapped in an accident down the bottom, your in a world of trouble.

Salvage Rescue is based at either Berowa, Castle Hill or St Ives, so ad another 10 minutes for their response.

And paramedics won't perform CPR on anyone trapped in a car either - and obviously, there are also difficulties associated with stemming internal bleeding etc, they can only do a limited amount of work on trapped people.

Re: galston gorge times

Street racing (even just for times) is illegal and stupid. Certainly not something that Ford Forums would want to be associated with. This is a PUBLIC forum you know?

Re: galston gorge times

I agree, street racing is stupid and its also illegal. People who street race are the ones who give automotive enthusiasts a bad name. Don't do it.

When the hell did I say we were "street racing" or even speeding. I simply stated myself and two mates were taking our bikes down the gorge today. I believe I even said:

You dont need too speed on a bike to have fun, you just need to find some nice twisties.

How did we go? Well it was fun but damn those curves are tight.
