FORD Australia president Geoff Polites will
miss the opening component of the launch of
the BA Falcon in Melbourne on Wednesday
evening, September 18, to join the three other
bosses of Australia's domestic car
manufacturers in Canberra for a 4pm meeting
with Prime Minister John Howard.
The meeting will centre on the continuity of the
Federal Government's Automotive
Competitiveness and Investment Scheme
(ACIS), which is currently under review.
The car company bosses will continue their
lobbying when they dine with Deputy Prime
Minister John Anderson and Industry Minister
Ian McFarlane that night.
Mr Polites will be back on deck for the rest of
the BA launch on Thursday and Friday.
