Me wonders why this thread was moved from the Barra Forum to this one?? I mean doesn't this have at least something, if not everything, to do with Geoff Polites and his XR6T ???

Neo.

Haven't Holden already purchased some BAs to do some research on? What did they expect GP to rock up in, a VY SS perhaps? He is the head of FOMOCO Oz after all.

Yeah, Malaysia charges something exceeding 100% duty on cars we want to export to them, yet here we are saying we have to reduce tariffs below 10% asap.

I will NEVER buy a Proton due to this and that racist (sic) Dr Mahatir fool from Malaysia......

Well if Malaysia decides to slap us in the face with their tariffs, then Australia can simply reintroduce embargoes against their cheap, defect so called "cars". As for protecting our local PMV industry, i don't totally agree with it. If we open up the PMV industry to competition, Ford and Holden will get their acts together and will have to manufacture better vehicles in order to compete with imports, which will be cheaper. This will be good for us consumers as we will have more choice and imports will be cheaper.

Anyway... Good on you Geoff, i hope you do it again sometime with the Boss 260. :)

Thumbs up

Love it, love it, love it!

It is my birthday today and I was relaxing with my new copy of Motor and read that! THEN I read the great article where the XR6 nicely outperforms the 5.7 SS in the road test.

Gentlemen, the rewards for our loyalties to the blue oval are coming through! Revenge is sweet.

Mike

He must have been VERY keen to be out of the presence of the Dark Side, as well as show off the spanking new car.

Aussie Pete, why on earth would anyone even think of buying a Proton anyway, regardless of whos in charge over there?? Even Korean cars are better for the same price!! Protons are rebadged Mitsubishis anyway.
