XF Falcon

Got a mate whos recently got himself a stock EL Falcon.. but she aint going to be standard for long.

Hes got a 2JZGTE twin turbo motor with 6 spd Getrag box coming from over east to transplant into it. It will be putting about 320 bhp for starters, which should make things a little interesting.

When he get some more $$$$ (big prob atm), then standard engine mods will go into it like intercooler, boost controller, injectors so he can run boost at 14psi rather than stock which is 8. To quote "next comes the style... full GT bodykit... nuff said :) with a drop tank of course"

I think you'll find its 280HP and not 320 unless the motor is US sourced. The US model had 550cc injectors vs. J spec 430cc

Ok and for those of us that arn't on the set of Fast and the Furious..whats a 2JZGTE?? And if its not a ford engine whats the point? If it is then it sounds sweet.

umm in isnt going to be a ford engine I think....

and when it turns out to be a 4 banger small engine then you might start asking questions about the amount of tourqe its going to produce at low revs or even the amount of tourque at all to move something as heavy as a big falcon........

Get cleaned up by a standard BA ?

Im pretty sure its the 6 cylinder out of either the soarer twin turbo or 300zx twin turbo. The soarer is inline 2.5 litre. The soarer weighs in the 1600's and absolutely flies. The 300zx is a V6 TT and is heavy as well so torque wont be a problem. My mate has a soarer, it has minor mods and eats every skyline we come up against.

Interesting project, but is it really worth it ? Probably be cheaper to do a bit of engine work to the I6 and wack a couple snails on the side of it.

a 2JZGTE is the engine out of the Supra. 3 L inline 6.

They are quite good engines, and quite torquey. Its no GT-R engine, but its quite good. Is more torquey than alot of other japanese engines, long stroke, made for the US market.

Still you might need to pop in some 3.9 to get the most out of it.

i spose it depends how mcuh he is paying for the lot.
A speed 6 spd on its own cost around $4000 add another $4000 to get a mild turbo setup to get to 320HP, Then any uprades would require an engine rebuild for strength to handle more boost. Around $4000 again.
