Question Getting sms off a mob phone that has been disconnected...

Yes, you all must think I am a loser for asking this....so I am going to say I am asking this on a behalf of one of my friends...yeah right anyway

I recently had my number ported from telstra to optus, and there is a heap of funny sms messages on my old phone I want to transfer to my new phone...I can send them to myself cos the sim in which the messages are on has been cancelled due to the number porting (if that makes any sense)

Does anyone know how to transfer them?

The phone with the messages on it that is no longer connected is a 8210, and the phone I want the messages on is 3530 (both are nokia)

can some one help me?

thanks

Whack the sim card in the 8210, send them all to your own number. Don't open them when you get them. Pull the sim card out, whack it in the 3530, I'm pretty sure the'll pop up, open them and save them.

That SHOULD work, try it with one first so you don't blow all your money I spose.

If they both have a infrared port you can sms from phone to phone without needing a carrier.

Just had the same problem, and that worked a treat for me.

If all else fails sit down with a pen and a piece of paper...
