Thumbs up Good show on telly last night

Did anyone catch a show called SCU (Serious Crash Unit) last night? Its a kiwi show, accompanying actual crash investigations in the shaky isles.

The crash they looked at last night was when some young bloke rolled his hilux and died. The found a fault with the suspension (nut holding swaybar on was missing), but decided that this didn't cause the accident. They eventually worked out that because the section of road the crash happened on was unmarked due to incomplete roadworks, the driver hadn't seen the bend coming, panicked and steered to hard, causing a slide which turned into a roll over.

Its a good show if you're like my and you can't listen to phrases on the news like "vehicle went out of control" or "driver lost control" without asking questions like "how?" and "why?". Also good for debunking any notion that road accidents are so simple as to be attributable to a few simple causes.

check it out next week. Its on Saturday night at 8pm on 7

I saw it as well - bit of an eye opener with the indents the wheels left in the road as the hilux rolled.

One of the better car shows, better than "Worlds Shittiest Drivers" and other crap like that. That one was interesting and didn't sensationalise anything.

I seen that show,I too found it to be very interesting, the way they delved into the accident to find a cause, the way they determine the cause's and the fact's is good, that wheel sure left a fine circle in the road, very interesting,a good watch.

That show is great, but it has got me thinking.

The other accident on the show had a 23yo who had a heart attack whilst driving & luckily crashed into a doctors front yard.
The doctor kept him alive till the ambulance came.

How the hell can a 23yo have a heart attack.
I am 24 & am thinking about it.
