General observation from experience: Green slip insurance in NSW does not cover a third party (eg a passenger) if the driver is not 'at fault'. In my example the driver collapsed with a fit of some sort, floored an old LTD, ran up a pole, killed one passenger and crippled another. Insurance company will not pay as the driver is not at fault. I think states other than NSW differ. Lot of pain, no gain.
