I'll explain my query:

I just moved to Melbourne to go to Uni at Swinburne in Hawthorn. I am most probably going to take Public transport to uni but am checking out my options if there is anyone on the FF site who works near there, after driving from Greensborough or anywhere nearby.

So if anyone fits into this category would they please be able to reply so I can attempt to save money by not using public transport.

Um...

I would strongly suggest that you contact the local real estate agents in the area, or other uni students at swini, as most of the rentals in the area are for Uni Students

Get a place close to Swinburne and save yourself heaps!

I'm already living with my Sister in greensborough and at the moment that is my best option

I'm only getting an idea of people around this area...there is no guarantee that I would actually ask to go with them.

I live close to greensborough, never been down that way thru public transport but i'm guessing buses go down to the eastern suburbs, otherwise u could catch the train to the city and transfer to the line which would be close to swinbourne
but follow it up i'm sure it wouldnt be too hard

hurstbridge line will take you the flinders st then transfer to the hawthorn(???) line for swinburne.

thats a bit of commuting you have on your hands...
I live in bundoora @ Latrobe uni... (off plenty rd) so I cant help with your transportation problems! but if you see a bright blue XD driving around wave :)

call the Met info line on 1800 652 313 and those guys direct you to the fastest and best way there

I live around the area but drive further into the east than Hawthorn. If you're a student and catch public transport though, it ends up cheaper than driving/chipping in. Good luck mate.

I have looked at the train transport way and it is quite easy...all I do need to do is go to g'borough station...get to flinders and then get to glenferrie...it is easy enough (thanks FM)

and I will wave if I see you xced....most likely I would be in a maroon Honda Accord
