I was reading through the new FPV site (gt40 section of heritage) where i stumbled across this clue....

"Just as the first Falcon GT shared the same engine with the GT40 Mark I, the advanced new engine of the latest GT40 will feature in the next Falcon GT."

We are looking at a Supercharged All Aluminum MOD 5.4 V8 producing 372.9 kw / 500.1 bhp @ 5250 rpm ... and 677.91 nm / 500.0 ft lbs @ 3250 rpm!!!!!!!!! With possibly the GT40's new 6speeder!

(I guess i could be over-reacting a bit - maybe they meant the 5.4 but not supercharged??? You be the judge)

I thought that Falcon's 5.4 was a completely different engine to the latest GT40's...

I predict that if they do use the same supercharged 5.4, the GT will run a bit less power... but hey - the XR runs 260kw, and the base model runs 182, so I guess it would follow the trend.

hehehehehhe, Does everyone think, that ford would have enough balls. to have a 5.4 S/c in an Ausie car. although the GT has never been S/c. it should be stroked out to 5.8

Personally I think we'll see the return of the '351' figure, for marketing purposes...

This might mean they may stroke the 5.4 it and call it a 351.. or they may choose to output the 5.4 to 351kw...

HSV have a 6.2L 360kW engine on the way, and Ford know it. Think of the GT40 engine as a pre-emptive strive.
