GT gets the good wrap on car show!

Just been watching the new car show on Ch.9 hosted by Glenn Ridge. Was a bit suss before hand, thought it may be a bit soft with soft cars, but it's not bad. Cover a wide variety.

The 1st story....GT Falcon! Lowndesy was caning a GT-P around the proving ground and said it was "surprisingly stable at 220"!! :s6:

Plenty of burnouts and a couple of blokes with older GT's were absolutely wrapped with the whole package of the car. The citric acid pursuit ute got the circle work treatment on the donut pad by Craig..but all in all a great plug for a great car!

Hmm yeah, I dunno, it was a little commercial - ie "subscribe to wheels and win" and they haven't exactly criticised any cars- with the smart and 350z - I cant speak I only saw the last half.

In comparison, 5th gear and top gear so far are better because, as I said, they seem to form strong opinions and have shootouts etc.

Time will tell- it was only the pilot, they can clean up their act a bit. And poor Molly and the "queen" jokes.

There's a car show on Commercial television? Well I'll be damned. That's news to me. What time/day is it on?

I thought it was a bit weak myself .
The GT bit wasn't bad , but not too informative .

The show wasn't too bad but was a bit light on for my liking I would like to see it be more informative & give stronger opinions rather then just be a big love in but it's only the 1st show so lets hope it's around for a long time & gets better & better

The Car Show

Anyone here watched the car show on Channel 9?? It's got the GT Falcon and Wooooooh it looks great! and for it's price tag... that car jolly well rapes the Monaro in all angles... more doors, more seats.... Don't need a bigger engine to make 290Kws.... Big Beautiful 18s... Brembo brakes I think..... But only 5 SPEED????????

5 speed is fine as long as the ratios are selected correctly. The 6 Speed fitted to Holden/HSV vehicles has a 6th gear that is useless at anything below 100-110, and only then cruising on a completely flat road. You'll find that many SS owners have never even driven in 6th as 5th is the gear required on the Freeway.

:wgaf: about the 6th ratio if it's useless? A lot of it is wank factor and marketing although it'd be nice to have a 6th gear that was useful out on the open road.
