tonight I aint had time to asses the damage fully but the alternator belt let go on the brock ford. first examination looks like the clutch fan let go and pulled the water pump partly out of the block( gotta check in better light) could be up for new head( if it warped due to water pump comming lose or the fact I had to drive it for 8 minutes till I got somewhere I could stop and call a tow truck). New radiator? and ill see about the water pump issue. Might be a good excuse to go back to themo fans. once I asses the situation I might be looking for some parts pm me if you can help in this department

ur water pumps shaft may have broken, ive seen it happen on a XF, fan nearly came off and into the radiator but luckily just stopped in time.... good luck with the fixing

i had my old water pump, pull the bearing out throug the front of the water pump, it cheewed the impella of the water pump... it was from over eving and the clutch fan pulling the shaft through the water pump

on inspection in better light the water pump housing snapped clean in two only part still connected to the block is the housing bolts. I just hope the head is ok.

I have a water pump & radiator (neither is very old, only replaced because i did serpentine conversion) and a recently recoed EA head with xr6 spec valve springs, if you're interested, mate

thanks loads guys I will try and get a photo of whats left of the water pump to show you the damage... its a mess
my only problem now is getting around to you guys to pick the parts up as the brock is my only transport.

well I guess I need a new Clutch fan or twin thermo fans as mine is all bent and damaged now. must have snapped with some force as its a clean break. got water pump mess out now and a photo if ya wanna see
