what's 2600 all about? that was something to do with phreaking, wasn't it? the tone frequency?

Phreaking is less common due to the responses of various telephony companies to stamp it out. The rise of the Internet has seen 2600 cover cracking/hacking/geeking as well.

yeah, i know phreaking is pretty much dead... what what exactly is "2600" - not the organisation, but the number itself. what does it represent, do you know?
