We only noticed today that my mums car got pretty badly hit up with hail damage from a storm that was on the 9th of November. Now where does that leave us with our insurance company as we didnt notice it earlier. (I only washed it today for her and noticed. She doesnt take any notice of these things herself). I went over the whole car and found 15 dints, car is 14 months old and only has 10,000 kms on it. Do you think the insurance company (Suncorp) will still repair it even tho we only realised a month later? Dints are pretty small but are worse in places..

Any help would be appreciated.

They will question why it took so long but you should be all right.

They will take very close photos of the damage to analysis the dents to make sure it's not faked. Many people try to make their own damage by hitting the panels with a ball pane hammer, golfballs in a sock etc.

They will establish quickly that the damage is genuine and should pay out your claim.

You shouldnt have much trouble as washing your car isnt allowed very much these days. When you explain this to them they should be OK with it. As Jamie has said it will be assessed by one of their assessors and will more than likely take a while for the claim to go thru ....... Coming from an insurance company employee point of view, you'll be right.

Not everyone can afford to take time off to get their cars repaired. It won't even be an issue.

Like Jamie mentioned, the motor assessors are pretty cluey with picking dodgey hail damage so if ur on the level you'll be sweet.
