That abortion of a program is why I don't play HL mods online anymore. That and the fact anyone playing mods for a 7 year old game have issues. That's like having a XK Falcon as a daily driver.
i reckon half-life2 is a bigger thing than halo2, i couldnt understand why there was such a big deal about halo2 being mankind's greatest creation. i mean it's good, but not that fantastic, whereas the jump from half-life to half-life2 is enourmous. need for speed underground 2 comes out the next day too, but the demo was fairly ordinary. id say the full game will be better what with more cars etc, but why give us a 350z again in the demo? now 'forza motorsport' looks like a good game

1. Halo 1 is biggest selling title on XBOX
2. Microsoft obviously realised this and started pumping money to build up the hype and keep the dollars rolling in. Ol Bill knows his stuff...

granted, but in the grand scheme of things is it really that good? as you said, i reckon it was only such a big deal cos microsoft could afford to propagandize it everywhere like in football games and whatnot. valve on the other hand isnt that rich i dont think (vivendi is almost broke?) and is run by a dodgy character, aka: gabe newell. also, half-life2 copped a huge set-back with the whole code-theft fiasco which i believe hurt its chances of being such a big thing as people got frustrated with the delay. dont get me wrong though, i enjoy playing the odd multiplayer game of halo, but the changes between the first and second dont really seem that fantastic compared to changes between say, half-life1 and half-life2 for example, or quake1 and quake2, etc, but again this is most probably due to the fact that the xbox has finite hardware spec whereas halflife and quake are pc games where the hardware is constantly changing. although, apparently games/movies are good for their stories rather than their graphics, but personally i look for a compromise between both. all in all though, i want half-life2 :)

I play the occasional cs or the original ut but very rarely just can't seem to get into games! I know half life 2 will be good probably install it but will the never play it :(
