Has anyone got a price better than X-plan (plus incentives)?
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I can't seem to find anything better. I'm looking to buy a 2009 Escape for the wife, and I have the x-plan through work.
I have about 5 Ford dealers within 10 miles of me, and am wondering if its worth trying to negotiate for a better than x-plan price or see if one of them will throw in some free or discounted options to win the sale. Anyone ever have any luck with this, or is this even possible?
I don't know how much a dealer makes on an X-plan deal, so maybe they don't really care and won't try too hard to win a sale. Since cars aren't selling now, I figure I have some leverage to get a little extra.
A side question, is there any news on when the best time to buy will be? The best incentives? I have time to wait a few months, and would like to get the best deal possible. I'm thinking mid-summer might be the best, but I don't know when the 2010's are coming out.
