140 should be the legal limit on the Hume, if my old 33kw Barina could do it, it should be legal! Sydney to Melbourne in 8 hrs including a 1 hr stop in Pizza Hut at Albury

104 in a "60" zone (was actually a 70 but copppa got more bloody say)

went to court, 4 months and 260 fine or some thing, 6 months extra p's and also 1 year passenger restriction (overturned at vicroads, due to me picking up my lil brother every afternoon)

So should the Western Highway, with the exception of that twisty bit. 130kph all the way to Ballarat and 130kph all the way home with ease. Western Ring Road to Ballarat in 45 minutes.

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

Too many to list but the more memorable ones:
61 in a 40km school zone, at 9:29am (1 minute before zone finished, down hill at the end of the zone) in the bosses car
a couple of 119 in a 100 both dropped to under 15 over
136 in a 100 dropped to 15-30 over
132 in a 100 followed by 138 in a 80 (top of Ousley, down past the picton rd turnoff, and up the hill it changes to an 80) cop gave me one over 30 over
Never lost my license, never had it suspended in over 23 years of driving....

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

Yes I have.

One big one when I was younger and more stupid than I am now, and a bundle of friggin' 3k's over around our street when there was big confusion over the changed limits and no-body could tell what speed our particular speed was because there was bad signage.

I copped my fines & points because well.. I was speeding. And that's all there is to it.

:)

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

Highest speed over the posted limit, (caught) 137 in 100 zone about 1990
Highest speed over the posted limit, 220 in a 40 zone about 1979.
This was on the bruce highway in the middle of nowhere at about 2am, there was going to be roadworks the next day and they had already put the signs up, silly I know, but I was young.
Highest speed in a car, 254 , last year in NT on the barkly.
Highest speed I have ever been while driving, about 420 between mcquoid and laravale 1999.

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

Just some advice for people, if you get pulled over for speeding and they dont have any equipment that actually specifies what you were doing, then dont say how fast you were going just say you dont know. It will help if it goes to court and they mite knock it down.

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

Hey guys,
I got done on may 14th 2004 doing 144km/h on the eastern (100kmh zone) at 2 am in the morning with no cars around. Good cop, but i am currently serving a 6 month loss of license, and got pinned 6 demerit points. The cop picked me up 352 meters away on radar! $360 fine (2 weeks before cameron cloake got caught in the same place at the same speed. He lives up the road from me too!)
Another one i have had is for doing 65 in a 60 zone on my way to work, that one pissed me off more than my license being taken away. $125 fine!
So far, only the two, and hoping not to get caught again, at least not on my probationary license.

Re: Have you ever been caught speeding?

caught about 3 times, 80 in 60 zone for 2 of them, and when I was 18 doing 45+, cost me 6 points, 6 months off the road, and $500 dollars, how stupid of me.
