Love the XR, I think it looks bloody fantastic.

No one has really mentioned the changes to the headlights, I thought that there would have been more comments, as this is a major departure from the previous XR styling with the lights being combined instead of separate apertures. Everyone seems to be happy with the new concept.

IMO, I think the headlights are great, very fresh and are the way forward. But, I also liked the front of the AU XR's and the fact that they were distinguishable from a distance. You definitely knew that an XR was coming up.

couldn't agree more eadan. pretty much a ford trademark since the xt gt. even though they lost the plot from xd to ea. something the ss boys have trouble with is that it still looks like an exec.

I like the new head light treatment, but I still think the distinction between the XR and base model ranges in term of looks is becoming blurred and thats a shame. The AU will be the last of the truely distinctive XR's IMO.

The issue of the head light change for the xr's has been on the cards for ages, and has been discused heaps of times in the forums.

I have already made my thoughts clear - the new XR will not haved the same road presence and easy identification froma distance as AU2 XR.

The new XR looks great.

I would have preferred to stick with quad headlights though.....

Wheels: 17" Series 1 XR
Exhaust: VCT with no resonators & 3" mandrel from mufflers back, dump pipe
Pacemaker headers (Waste of money).
Air Intake: T-Series, K&N Filter.
Brakes: Calipers painted red, DBA slotted rotors & Lucas pads.
Windows: Tinted.
Gearstick: Shortened.
Fuel: Dual Fuel.
Dyno: 143 rwKw (Dynodynamics - shootout mode).
Heathcote: 15.87 @ 89.1 Mph.

Perhaps Quad-Headlights™ are being saved for the.... GULP..... HO!!! If any car was supposed to have em thats the one.. XT - XW - XY- XA - XB - XC's came with em. I think Ford stuffed up with the EB - EL GT as it moved away from it's traditional GT look. Maybe just maybe the BA GT will have this setup. FINGERS CROSSED. Just a thought.....:s5
