So im buying a sliver, 2000 cougar as my first car and it needs some work done for it to pass safety. According to the seller it needs emergency brake cables. How many do i need? Can i do the work myself or with a friend that knows his stuff or should i just take it in to a shop? It also needs a rear light cover. This sounds simple but the car has the lights where its just the semi-circles that are seperate so it could be difficult to replace. If anyone has any pointers on how to go about this it would be greatly appriciated.

Inside the trunk, there should be some thumb screws that hold the lens in place. Unfortunately, it comes as an assembly and your best bet for replacement is probably E-bay or a junk yard.

As for the E-brake:

Thanks soooo much, that link was perfect! Now i just need to buy a cable. Napa quoted me $45 each but i heard i could get them for cheaper. What am i looking at for prices?
