Occasionally in life we make mistakes and after an Ford / XR past I went to the flipside and bought an SS (for need of sheer grunt and the AU didnt really do a great deal for me)....
HELP! I need a good dealer in Adelaide.....any referrals appreciated. I love my Fords and have learnt my lesson and need to crawl into the loving arms of a nice XR.... :)
Me mum an dad got a good deal through Jarvis Ford, can't remember which one though or the guys name.
Will find out an let ya know...

huh I had the choice at the time when I got my AUXR8S3 a year ago or a VXSSS2.
There was no hope for the SS after test driving the XR a couple of times.

Hey thanks for the replies guys. The SS got the nod for a few reasons...
1) the Ford sales guy was an absolute pain in the ass and was ringing me when I was recovering in hospital from an operation, which wasnt appreciated, asking me to confirm an order...
2) Not a lot in the SS/XR equation but I was aware of the extra hp in the SS for little investment, which threw the balance (mines manual too and couldnt get a manual XR8 test drive for nuts at the time)
3) The front of the XR8 has never really worked for me in AU guise..though I like the rest. The VX2 is a sweet thing in black. I just like what they did with that one. VT did nothing for me, VY does nothing for me.
All up, if the Ford sales guy hadnt of been such a PITA life would likely have been different irrespective of the other points.
I had a black XR8 lined up with leather, Momo bits inside, roof, 18" aftermarket wheels, lowered. And he just pushed that little bit too hard at the wrong time. A decision I regret.
Why flick the SS? Mostly its dynamics, I drive 30000+kms per year and it just doesnt hang together dynamically like an XR. I've had no oil problems or anything major at all. Cant complain about that.
I've never been a Ford or Holden guy until recently. The SS experience swings it, and I've been watching Holden and Ford forums closely over the last year and the way GP gets down with the people and enthusiasts ON BOTH SIDES sends one helluva good message to people like me. Identity crisis over :)
