Hey guys I need a list of mod friendly insurace companies. I just got my renewal for NRMA and they have put my premium up with no changes from last year. And will only let me spend another 2g on it before they give me the boot.
Shannon's is a no go wanting 3600 for a standard ute You have gotta be kidding me.
Just cars will insure for $34000 with all my soon to be added mods for $1900 but they have crazy excess's But it's looking like they will be the ones I'll have to go with.
What other companies should i be trying. And a contact number if possible please...
Try Vigil insurence..... got my 5.8 LTD insured though them $8000 cover, 24 hour roadside assist, etc etc....... I pay around $750 PA with because I'm 22 and havn't had insurence in my name before (always been in perents name with me as a driver).
If i add a holly, cam and extractors it only goes up around $70.... bad point is I got $1100 excess.
still it's better then RACV who would only cover me for $4500 and still wanted $690 without 24hr roadside.
I have gone with GIO as they have classed the mods (upgraded brakes and mags) as accessories NOT mods !, agreed value = $76,000 car, rateing one, 31 yo driver, exces $400, $980 full comp. Shannons wanted $3300 and RACV didn't want to know me.

Go the insurance broker route.
See a broker, tell him what you have done/plan to do, and if he is any good will find best cover for least price, but be careful, there are some sharks in the broker water. Try Jack O'Brian insuranse in Tralgon.

But they only want you to pay an excess where you're at fault ?? If thats the case then thats not too bad I guess.
Grab Unique cars mag and check out all the specialist insurers that advertise in there. Normell's advice for the insurance broker is def a good one.
